Introduction to organic processing and other enterprises
In the organic sector, all enterprises other than farming and growing are classed as “processing”.
The OF&G Processor Certification department covers these activities which include:
- Food manufacture
- Trading, wholesaling, retailing
- Packing and labelling
- Abattoirs and meat cutting
- Poultry slaughter and dressing
- Importing
- Cosmetics and bodycare
- Catering
- Marketing
- Storage and distribution, including milk haulage
- On-farm processing
OF&G Processor Certification staff have a wealth of experience in the organic processing sector and can advise on whether or not your enterprise requires organic certification and what this entails.
Important Changes to Permitted Additives
